I appreciate that they put so much content into BBS and DDD, but I can't help but believe that it was completely wasted effort because they didn't put more work into the core, fundamental gameplay loops in those games. I will give them credit if KH3 has a good gameplay loop. I appreciate that the Kingdom Hearts games still looked exactly the same going from Days to BBS, and beyond, but there's a very real dip in gameplay quality starting with BBS and continuing downward with DDD. It doesn't take more powerful hardware to make combos faster. Theoretically, you could've had a system where commands can be utilized with the combo system, but nah, they didn't do that, and that had nothing to do with underpowered hardware. Remember how much fun combos were to execute in KH1 and KH2? Screw that, let's make combos terrible in BBS and DDD. I am overly critical of the Osaka team because they took the good parts of the Kingdom Hearts games and threw them into the trash. Beta version of this UNDUB (or VOST) patch which was announced is now available. Thunder Surge and Balloonra are just that good. As we annouced you a few days before in the following news, Sephizack is working on a patch for Kingdom Hearts : Birth by Sleep which will allow you to play with original voices (in this case, japanese ones) while keeping good subtitles in all cutscenes and menus in the game. They just tend to have glaring issues in their combat design that makes it so that you can't appreciate all of the work that went into their games.
